“Backyard Naturalist Series” Explore local habitats with highly trained naturalist guides. From the forest to the coast, the northeast is loaded with surprises. Join us for a fascinating look at the diversity of life right here in our own “backyard.” If you have the audience we have the naturalist. You do not have to wait for us to offer a field trip, you can request one. Small groups are great, but multiple naturalists can also be provided for larger groups. Field trip options include forest, stream, pond, lake, vernal pool and coastal ecology. We can suggest a site or you can request a site. Some exciting options include: Hiking at: Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Mianus River Park or Preserve, Babcock Preserve, or the Hudson Highlands, Kayaking: Norwalk Islands-Long Island Sound, Constitution Marsh-Hudson River Other options: Sheffield Island by Ferry, Hike from Bartlett Arboretum to Animal Embassy at the Stamford Museum. Special trips will be offered periodically to our members and through our newsletter.
